  Strengthening Briefing on Monthly Manufacturing and Quarterly Construction Survey 2022 On 15-16 February 2022 (Tuesday-Wednesday), Industrial Production and construction Statistic Division - BPPIB has organized a Hybrid Strengthening Briefing session on Monthly and Quarterly Construction Survey 2022 for the State Department of Statistics (DOSM) which was officiated by YBhg. Datin Seri Rozita Talha, Deputy Chief Statistician (Economy). This session is important as a platform to hold a two-way discussion between the Matter Details Division and the State DOSM towards empowering quality and timely data. The implementation of this session has also been well received with the participation of nearly 300 members from DOSM Headquarters and State DOSM.

  Quarterly Construction Statistics, ST4 2021 was published on 8 February 2022 The construction sector contracted by 12.9 per cent in the fourth quarter of 2021 with value of construction work done, RM27.6 billion The value of construction work done in the fourth quarter 2021 recorded a growth -12.9 per cent   (Q3 2021: -21.0%) year-on-year basis, amounting to RM27.6 billion (Q3 2021: RM24.8 billion). For the fourth quarter 2021, Special trades activities subsector recorded a growth of 22.5 per cent . However, the three major construction subsectors, namely Residential buildings, Non-residential buildings and Civil engineering each contracted -18.2 per cent, -7.1 per cent and -20.3 per cent respectively, as compared with the same quarter 2020. The Department of Statistics Malaysia also reports that in the fourth quarter 2021, the Civil engineering subsector remained dominant as the main contributor to the value of construction work done with 36.3 per cent share. Index Of Industrial Production and Monthly Manufacturing Statistics Malaysia December 2021 were published on 08 February 2022.  Malaysia's Industrial Production Index (IPI) remained positive in  the final month of 2021 with a growth of 5.8 per cent  January 2022 with a growth of 4.3 per cent  The Industrial Production Index (IPI) increased 5.8 per cent in December 2021 as compared to the same month of the previous year. The expansion of IPI was contributed by the increment of 8.4 per cent in Manufacturing index and 3.7 per cent in Electricity index. Meanwhile, Mining Index recorded a decline of 2.5 per cent .  The Manufacturing sector output based on year-on-year comparison increased by 8.4 per cent in December 2021 after recording a growth of 11.3 per cent in November 2021. The main subsectors contributed to the growth in Manufacturing sector in December 2021 were Electrical & Electronics Products ( 18.2% ), Food, Beverages & Tobacco Products ( 10.3%...
