   The Construction sector continued to perform favourably in the fourth quarter 2022 with growth of 15.7 per cent, while overall 2022 posted a rebound of 8.8 per cent after two years in the declining trend The value of work done in the Construction sector continued to increase by 15.7 per cent in the fourth quarter after expanding strongly by 23.2 per cent in the third quarter of 2022. The growth momentum in this quarter was driven by the double-digit growth in the Civil engineering sub-sector (20.8%); Non-Residential buildings (19.0%); and Special trade activities (12.7%). Meanwhile, the sub-sector of Residential buildings increased 5.3 per cent as compared to a year ago. Out of RM32.0 billion of work done value recorded in the fourth quarter of 2022, RM12.1 billion or 37.9 per cent was in Civil engineering and followed by  Non-residential buildings with a share of 30.1 per cent or amounted to RM9.6 billion. The  Workshop on the Refinement of the 2023 Economic Census Questionnaire Guide and Operation Manual  The Workshop on the Refinement of the 2023 Economic Census Questionnaire Guide and Operation Manual was held for two days from 18-19 January 2023 at Dewan Anggerik, Department of Statistic Malaysia, Putrajaya. The workshop involved more than 70 participants who were responsible for the development of questionnaire forms and guidelines for Economic Census 2023.   Index Of Industrial Production and Monthly Manufacturing Statistics Malaysia December 2022 were published on 07 February 2023.  The positive momentum of Malaysia’s Industrial Production Index continued in December 2022 with 3.0 per cent growth, spearheaded by expansion in Manufacturing and Mining sectors  Industrial Production Index (IPI) grew by 3.0 per cent in December 2022 after recording an increase of 4.8 per cent in November 2022. The expansion in December 2022 was propelled by Mining index ( 4.1% ) and Manufacturing index ( 3.0% ). Meanwhile, the Electricity index turned downward to negative 1.1 per cent during the month. In terms of month-on-month comparison, the IPI weakened by 0.6 per cent as against the expansion of 0.9 per cent registered in the previous month.
